By Staff Reporter

Austin, TX – Austin once again welcomed some of the best young cricket talent in North America as the fourth edition of the prestigious AMLCA national youth cricket tournament concluded successfully at the scenic Rio Ranch cricket fields during the Independence Day long weekend.

Organized by the World Cricket Initiative (WCI) in partnership with the Lone Star Premier Cricket League (LPCL), the four-day tournament featured 12 elite youth teams representing teams from California to New Jersey, along with players from Canada.

A total of 138 young cricketers competed in 24 matches of U13 Division B played in a challenging 30-over format, providing a high-quality competitive experience for aspiring players.

WCI Founder and Head Coach Alok Singh thanked the LPCL Executive Committee, volunteers, officials, and the Austin cricket community for their continued support in making the event a success.

“Each edition of AMLCA has raised the standard of youth cricket in Austin. Bringing together top teams from across North America gives our young athletes the opportunity to compete at a higher level, learn from one another, and stay motivated to keep improving,” Singh said.

LPCL leadership played a vital role in the smooth execution of the tournament. Bhavesh Carsane reaffirmed the league’s commitment to expanding the tournament in the years ahead.

Murali Dingari oversaw the preparation of the playing facilities and helped ensure a welcoming experience for players and families, while the popular “Chill At Boundary” food truck served spectators throughout the event.

Nandan Patibandla efficiently coordinated the selection and assignment of umpires, helping maintain high standards of officiating across all matches.

Bawarchi restaurant supported the tournament by offering an expanded menu for players and their families, while Prime 22 Yards opened its state-of-the-art indoor cricket facility to visiting teams, providing additional practice opportunities during the tournament.

The tournament concluded with an exciting championship match between CCA Stars (California) and Detroit Terminators, with CCA Stars emerging as tournament champions after a high-quality contest.

The third-place playoff featured hometown favorites Austin Blasters against ACAC Eagles from St. Louis, giving local fans another exciting match to enjoy on the final day of the tournament.

Based on the cumulative rating points for the 2026 AMLCA cycle, CCA Stars finished as the No. 1-ranked team, followed by Austin Blasters in second place, AYCA Strikers in third, and Detroit Terminators in fourth.

Players, coaches, parents, and officials praised the tournament for its competitive spirit, excellent organization, and sportsmanship throughout the four days of competition.
